"I do all my household shopping in Shoprite
except for my baby’s diapers and wipes because I only use Dr. Brown’s and they
never had it in the store. So you can imagine my surprise – pleasant surprise -
seeing them here in Shoprite this morning,” enthused
Bella Oyeyomi, mother of a feisty one year old son.
Bella speaks for the many ladies, parents and even
elders who are core users of the Dr. Brown’s and Nightingale brands. Now,
families can buy at Africa’s largest retail store, Shoprite across
Nigeria.
“It was an inevitable move,” remarked Paul Odunaiya,
the Managing Director of Wemy Industries, manufacturers of Dr. Brown’s and
Nightingale brands .“Shoprite is renowned for selling high quality products for
middle to low income earners. We, likewise, deliver great value at affordable
prices. Also, Both companies are on the same page as far as excellence in
service delivery is concerned.”
Being
available at Shoprite only makes it better for Dr. Brown's. Now, the product is
better positioned to reach more consumers while the consumer is
better-placed to purchase a high-end product for a thin price.
As Bella and her high-spirited son wheeled their
packed shopping cart away, she whips out her cell phone and cheerfully remarks,
“I can’t wait to tell my friends about this. I’m sure they’ll tell me to pack
some for them.”
